First wild camp of the year, and it was a great one! Really nice weather on the first day, but cloudy on the second. There was a partial solar eclipse while I was on the summit of stony Cove Pike, but the clag had come down so I couldn’t see any of it; it just went a bit (more) dull.

The walk up to Hayeswater is easy enough, but it’s a bit of a slog after that until you get to The Knott; ignore the zigzag path on the OS map, it’s not there! Once you’re up towards High Street it’s an easy walk all the way round, with the exception of the climb up Threshthwaite Crag; this is a bit of a scramble in parts, and not that easy with a full wild camping pack.

Overall a good walk that can be done in a day, with great views and some interesting places along the way 🙂
