A murky start to the day, and a couple of fells that I wasn’t particularly looking forward to. However, it did give me the chance to revisit Shipman Knotts and bag the Wainwright summit that I missed last time!
Not too much to say about Grey Crag and Tarn Crag (Sleddale); they are fairly unremarkable, and with the clag being down I didn’t have any decent views to make them more interesting. Also, the route I took was rather strange, mainly because I wanted to revisit Shipman Knotts. This turned out all right though, as the walk along Gatescarth Pass was more enjoyable than I had expected.
The rest of the fells form the eastern side of the Kentmere Horseshoe, and as you would expect offer excellent views and enjoyable walking.
Reasonably strenuous with some navigational skills needed due to poor paths at the start of the walk. Probably not one I’d do again, but it served its purpose 🙂
