This is a great, if strenuous, walk around the Grisedale Horseshoe, with the addition of Birkhouse Moor and Seat Sandal. If you weren’t hill bagging and skipped these two then the walk would be substantially less strenuous and probably more enjoyable; there is little of merit on the summit of Seat Sandal!
I don’t think I need to describe Striding Edge, as most people are familiar with what is Lakeland’s most popular ridge. Today was no exception, even though it was a weekday and not a bank holiday the people were still out in droves. Probably best to avoid doing this walk on a weekend.
There are exceptional views of most of the Lake District, so a clear day is a must; no point putting all that effort in to stare at the cloud all day.
